Arrival of Mohammad Bin Qasim at Debal Port (Karachi) in 712 laid the first brick in the foundation of Pakistan. The Muslims launched War of Independence in 1857 against the domination of British Government. The unfortunate failure created frustration. However Sir Syed Ahmed Khan emerged to lead Muslims at this critical juncture. He cultivated the concept of separate Muslim nation on the basis of religion, culture and history. In 1906 the Muslim League was established to articulate aspirations of Muslims. The ideology of Pakistan found ever clearer expression in Dr. Sir Mohammad Iqbal's religion-philosophical, didactic and poetic works. From 1937 onwards, Muhammad Ali Jinnah became the embodiment of Muslim national consensus. He led the march for creation of Pakistan. The heroic struggle forced the British Parliament to approve the Indian Independence Act leading to the birth of Pakistan 0n 14th August, 1947. |
